Whole Family Is Involved:

Whole Family Is Involved In the treatment of emotionally disturbed children the whole family is involved. Ideally they should move forward together toward a better ad¬justment. The case of the Smith family illustrates this family-centered ap¬proach : The father wanted his seven-year-old boy to compare favorably with other children—to be a credit to him. He was much more concerned about the child's achievement than about the child as a person. Despite evidence to the contrary, the father believed that the child was of normal intelligence and that his abilities had not been developed. It was clear that the father had a strong need to have a child of whom he could be proud. He could not accept the fact that his child was below average.

See Also Posi¬tion In Family:

Psychologically, brothers and sisters do not have the same parents; no two siblings have exactly the same relation to their parents. It is not posi¬tion in family by itself that is responsible for differences observed in eld¬est, youngest, or only children, but rather their position in the complex total family situation.

The direc¬tion of the object is indicated by the beam posi¬tion that yields the strongest echoes. Because radio frequency energy travels at a constant speed, that of light, the distance (range) of a reflecting object from the radar can be determined by measuring the time between the transmis¬sion of a radio wave and the reception of an echo from the object. In addition, radar can be used to measure range rate (radial velocity).

On The Other Hand See Semi-detached Family House:

For many of us it is summed up by the 1930s semi-detached family house with front and back gardens. And many of us have strong feelings about it, whether positive, quiet, safe, leafy, and family-oriented or -negative- think Mike Leigh snobbery and Desperate Housewives undercurrents.

In Search of Suburbia We are all familiar with the suburbs. We all know what we mean by suburbia. For many of us it is summed up by the 1930s semi-detached family house with front and back gardens. And many of us have strong feelings about it, whether positive, quiet, safe, leafy, and family-oriented or -negative- think Mike Leigh snobbery and Desperate Housewives undercurrents. But in fact the suburbs are incredibly varied, both in date and in the type of homes provided. So why do we have such a strong tendency to homogenise this vast diversity? Is there really such a place as suburbia or are there many different and changing suburbias?
