Quiet Mother:

Quiet Mother Certain rewards or reinforcements are probably of major impor¬tance in the socialization of the child. Children, in general, are most frequently praised for academic performance—lessons well done, good grades, improvement; assistance to mother or other member of the family, to unfortunates; being quiet mother, polite, obedient; performance in sports and games; giving or sharing; doing creative work. However, in a progressive American school relatively little praise was given for academic performance and for being quiet mother, polite, and obedient.

See Also Mother Gorillas:

The East African animals are commonly referred to as "mountain gorillas" because some live in the mountains up to an altitude of 13,000 feet (4,000 meters), where temperatures nightly fall below freezing. These gorillas can be distinguished from their lowland relatives by their long, dense hair. Mountain gorillas are uncommon, with only some 10,000 surviving. The gorillas in West Africa are fairly abundant in some places, but they too are heavily hunted for food.

Reproduction and Longevity. Females reach sex¬ual maturity at about 6 or 7 years of age, males at about 9 or 10 years. A female produces one young about every 4 years. Twins have been recorded only once, in the zoo at Frankfurt am Main, West Germany. The gestation period is about 250 to 290 days (approximately 9 months). For the first three months of its life, the gorilla infant is entirely helpless and has to be carried in the arms of its mother Gorillas. After that the young¬ster rides on the mother Gorillas's back. Gorillas have lived as long as 35 years in zoos.

On The Other Hand See His Mother 8:

Gestation takes 16 days; 7-15 in litter; young born pink, naked, and blind. Do not disturb young or his mother 8 for at least a week after birth; if disturbed his mother 8 will either kill and eat the young or ne¬glect them and allow them to die. After 3 weeks, remove young from his mother 8; otherwise, his mother 8 fights with them and often kills them. Sexes should be separated before young reach maturity at 43 days.

After school, on their way home the child asked timidly, "his mother 8, choc¬olate malted?" and looked up at her his mother 8 beseechingly. "No pea soup, no chocolate malted," her his mother 8 answered firmly. At home the his mother 8 began to prepare dinner. The child stayed around, asked for water and got it. Seeing that she was going to get nothing else, she went to play quietly with her blocks. Sitting on the Floor she put the blocks one on top of another forming a tower and then suddenly she smashed them down on the floor. She did the same thing five times, perhaps as an expression of aggression that she dared not even feel toward her his mother 8.
