Much Small Animal:

Much Small Animal Broken legs (or tails!) can be splinted. The broken member can be straightened so that the ends of the bone are in line. A splint can then be placed on each side. The splints are held in place with sev¬eral much small animal bandages tied tightly enough to prevent the ends of the bone from grinding together as the animal moves. Bandages are less likely to be removed by the animal from a splinted limb than from an open wound.

See Also Small Secondary:

In most parts ot the UK the old gram¬mar and small secondary modern schools have been replaced by comprehensive small secondary schools that all children in the district attend, a change initiated by the Labour government in 1966.

Gunnery at long ranges was not very effective until after 1900, when the British and Americans, goaded by Percy Moreton (later Sir Percy) Scott and William S. Sims, began to develop fire-control devices that greatly improved accuracy at long distances. Spotting of ranges was con¬fused by the mixture of splashes from the big and small secondary guns. Moreover, if the small secondary guns were omitted and the big guns increased, an ill-big-gun ship might smother a conventional ship with its salvos before the latter's small secondary nins could come into range.

On The Other Hand See Radars For Small:

RADARS FOR small have two principal applications aboard ships and small craft. Although they are often thought of primarily as anti-collision devices, RADARS FOR small are used even more often to assist in the piloting of the vessel.

Air search RADARS FOR small must be able to resolve targets in elevation as well as in azimuth, In the more advanced types this is accomplished by designing the antenna to radiate a pencil beam and by using frequency-scanning to provide rapid coverage of the region to be searched. Both types of search RADARS FOR small usually operate at S-band frequencies. Search RADARS FOR small are used by the United States Army in the field to detect approaching aircraft and to designate specific targets to antiaircraft batteries. These RADARS FOR small are similar to the air search RADARS FOR small of the United States Navy, but are designed for portable use. A radar of this type is shown in Fig. 12.
