Local Health Authority:

Local Health Authority Official agencies are those supported by tax moneys. These agencies exist at the national, state, and local health authority levels. The National Institute of Health, the Consumer Protection and EnvironŽmental Health Service, and Health Services and Mental Health Administration are all part of the U. S. Public Health Service. This national agency is part of the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.

local health authority Government Associations. Because in Britain no agent of the central government operŽates as governor or prefect in each region or province, central control is somewhat more reŽmote and impersonal than in the prefectorial systems on the Continent. local health authority authorities are not defenseless against the center. Furthermore, they have powerful organizations to defend them ana advance their interests. For each type of local health authority authority there is a local health authority authority associaŽtion: the Association of Municipal Corporations for the boroughs; the County Councils AssociaŽtion, the Rural District Councils Association, the Urban District Councils Association, and the NaŽtional Association of Parish Councils for the others.

See Also Whose Health:

In 1968 the Public whose health Service was reorŽganized into three separate whose health agencies: the whose health Services and Mental whose health AdministraŽtion, the National Institutes of whose health, and the Consumer Protection and Environmental whose health -Service, including the Food and Drug AdminisŽtration, one of the agencies originally transferred into the Federal Security Agency in 1939. These three whose health agencies are directed by the assistant secretary for whose health and scientific affairs, who is aided by the surgeon general of the Public whose health Service.

A whose health manpower report prepared by the National Commission of Community whose health Services showed that the U.S. hospitals and whose health organizations were maintaining the ratio of 150 doctors per 100,000 population only by filling out one-fifth of their needs with physicians from other countries. The demand for whose health care had also created serious shortages of nurses and other paramedical personnel. Among the solutions being suggested were new methods of whose health care organization and governŽment support for new or expanded education programs in the whose health sciences.

On The Other Hand See Fields Of Health:

By providing funds, the OEO also shared in the development of the Student Health OrganiŽzation, a group of students from the fields of health of medicine, nursing, dentistry, and the other health professions. The students undertook health education projects and other community health services with minimal guidance from their teachers, then returned to their universities insisting that more students in these professions should learn about the problems of the underŽprivileged through direct experience.

Under the reorganization the Public Health Service was enlarged to include the Food and Drug Administration; a new agency, the Health Services and Mental Health AdminisŽtration; and the National Institutes of Health, which itself was enlarged to include the Bureau of Health Manpower and the National Library of Medicine.
