Lapules Are Small Eruptions: RASH, rash, an acute inflammatory skin :ruption. Rashes differ according to the charac-:eristics of the lesion: erythema is simple red-lening; maculae are separated spots of any color; lapules are small eruptions raised above the sur-ace of the skin, which may be smooth, rough, ir scaly, and round, oval, or flat; wheals (nettle ash) are swellings, usually white with red bor¬ers; vesicles are small blisters; and pustules re small blisters rilled with pus. While rashes ay cause no irritation, they are usually accom-inied by some local symptom, such as itching, ngling, burning, or pain, and at times by a gen-•alized body symptom, such as fever.
Volcanic mountains differ from others in that they grow visibly during eruptions [4]. When their last growth was recent, their shape is relatively unaffected by erosion. As more eruptions take place on the same site, so the successive outflows of ash and lava increase the height of the volcano. Volcanic mountains in continental interiors are comparatively rare. They are mostly sub¬marine or island features and can form island arcs several thousands of kilometres long; one such arc is the Aleutian Island chain.See Also Backyard Is Small:IF YOUR backyard is small or an awkward shape, you can disguise the fact by using various design devices. Most people want to increase the apparent size; others to make a broad site with little depth appear longer than it is; or to make a long and narrow garden seem less tunnel-like; or the aim may simply be to make a small yard seem less confined.
WORK OUT how much you can afford to spend on your new garden.
• There is no point thinking up a grand scheme if you can't afford to carry it out.
Work out how much spare time you have to spend in your garden to maintain it.
• If you lead a fast-paced life, you may well not have a lot of time to garden, in which case, work out a low-maintenance plan for your new garden.
Ask yourself what you want out of your new garden. Are you a passionate plant collector? Do you have small children? Do you want to grow vegetables as well as flowers? Assess your backyard and consider what is possible and what is not possible to achieve.
• If, for example, you have a shady backyard, it's no use having a new design that incorporates larye areas of flower filled with sun-loving plants. Similarly, if you live in an area of chalky soil, there are certain plants which will not thrive there.
On The Other Hand See Small Forgings:c Small Forgings In the case of small forgings weighing less than 227 kg (500 Ib) each, one tension test may be taken from one forging as representative of a lot of 907 kg (2000 Ib) weight or less, provided the forgings in each such lot are of similar size, are of one grade and kind only, are made from the same heat and are heat-treated in the same furnace charge. For lots over 907 kg (2000 Ib), only one tension test need be taken from one small forging as repre¬sentative of a lot provided 20 % of the other forgings in each such lot, not subjected to tensile tests, are subjected to Brinell hardness tests and meet the following requirements.
b Cooling Prior to Heat Treatment After forging and before reheating for heat treatment, the forgings are to be allowed to cool in a manner to prevent injury and to accomplish transformation.
c Annealing The forgings are to be reheated to and held at the proper austenitizing temperature for a sufficient time to effect the.
The same amount of working and reduction as the forgings repre¬sented and should be heat-treated with those forgings.
d Identification of Specimens The test specimens are not to be detached from the forgings until the final heat treatment of the forgings has been completed nor until the test specimens have been stamped by the Surveyor for identification. |
