Unique Home Furniture, Home Decorating and Home Decoration Store
Home Decor: The Eleventh Annual Fine Furnishings Providence Show is slated for October 27 - 29, 2006 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
Both fine furnishings shows provide a venue for artisans to meet with designers, decorators, members of the Home Decor media, collectors, and the general public to make direct sales, initiate commissions, and generate publicity about their work.
Many dedicated exhibitors have developed long-term relationships with clients they originally met at fine furnishings.
The shows are open to artists and designers residing and working in North America who are the principal behind the design and craftsmanship of the work.
All work must be originally designed, handcrafted and appropriate for home decor.
Contrasting a single pattern with a limited number of solid colors requires thought and planning. The size, style, and colors of the pattern all need to be selected carefully so they harmonize with the rest of the decor. When it comes to combining two or more patterns that match or contrast with one another, the challenge is that much greater. However, by following a few guidelines, you will quickly see how to use a variety of patterns to create a strikingly successful decor¬ative scheme.See Also The Home Of Petrarch:it independent men of letters, Petrarch from an •]y age dedicated himself to the study of the ssics. Although his vernacular poetry is today re regarded and remembered than his Latin npositions, it was on the latter that his fame ted in his own lifetime. His friend Giovanni xaccio (1313-1375), shared Petrarch's pas-:ate desire for a deeper knowledge of the ancient world, and besides the famous Decameron (1353), wrote important works in Latin on ancient mythology and on the fate of heroes and princes. In the followers of Petrarch and Boc¬caccio we can see clearly developed the character¬istic features of humanist thought.
When doing the hill towns, consider inclusion of medieval Viterbo; San Gimignano, with its astonishing cluster of towers; Pienza, the personal creation of Aeneas Silvius Piccolomini after he became Pope Pius II; Monteriggioni, a tiny hill hamlet (north of Siena) that is a picture of the past; Arezzo, the home of Petrarch; Gubbio, with its Palazzo del Consoli; Urbino, the home of Raphael; very ancient Volterra, exuding Etruscanism; Vinci, with the charming little museum of Leonardo, who was humbly born in this Tuscan hamlet; and Montecatini Alto, on a mountain shelf above the Terme of the same name. Farther south, in the Abruzzi, a hill name to ponder on is L'Aquila, The Eagle. To reach most of these lofty places, in¬cluding the nest of The Eagle, in any sort of comfort, a rugged personal car is almost essential.
On The Other Hand See Irish Home Rule:Irish Home Rule. Ireland had a time of roubles. Some 73 Sinn Feiners elected to Parlia-lent in 1918 refused to sit at Westminster, 'hey set up the Dail, or parliament, at Dublin nd proclaimed a republic. The Irish Republican irmy waged a guerrilla war against the occupy-ig British forces. After two years of killing and rson a truce was arranged in July 1921. Irish elegates negotiated with the British government i London. Lloyd George secured agreement to is terms by threatening to renew the war. 'wenty-six counties received dominion status as le Irish Free State (December 1921). Six re-sived home rule and remained within the United kingdom. The last British garrison in Dublin ras withdrawn in February 1922.
If you find yourself in a mood to out-Irish the Irish, which I much doubt, you'll go for a blackthorn shillelagh as a take-home souvenir. The Irish themselves consider the shillelagh a sort of stage-Irish "prop."
Popular firms for Irish clothing and Textiles are: O'Beirne, Switzer and Fitzgibbon; Kevin and Howlin; and Tyson's (which likes to proclaim that it is favored by the Khans, Aga and Ali). |
