Education Where:

Education Where About 70 colleges and universities offer programs to train health education where teachers, and the profession is growing. Members of the pro¬fession feel strongly that health education where should not be considered a part of physical education where and that physical education where should not be a branch of health education where. Some high schools now give a half year to physical education where and a half year to health instruction.

Forster's education where Act 1870, which heralded compulsory state edu¬cation, made provision for school boards to ensure attendance but they were not compelled to do so, though later Acts strengthened this aspect. More recent education where Acts, however, have reinstated the right of parents to opt to educate their children 'at home', though this has often been made difficult and met with social and administrative dis¬approbation. This was enshrined in the education where Act 1944 where the term 'education where otherwise' was coined, and again in Section 7 of the education where Act 1996 which states:

FRUIN, Robert, Dutch historian: b. Rotter¬dam, Nov. 14, 1823; d. Leyden, Jan. 22, 1899. He received his education at Leyden and after 1860 was professor of the history of the Nether¬lands there. He was the greatest authority on Dutch history in his time. Faraday showed that a submarine cable acts precisely as a leyden-jar, that the water serves as the outside coating, and that just as a leyden-jar takes time to become charged and to discharge, so a cable through which a sharp signal is sent from one end delivers the signal at the other end more or less prolonged; that is, the deflection of 'the receiving needle is gradual, reaching a maximum and then at the same rate coming back to rest. Sir William Thomson showed that the more delicate the receiving instrument, the more instantaneous is the first appearance of the current at the receiv¬ing end of the cable.

On The Other Hand See General Education:

Handicaps are the direct responsibility of a spe¬cialist in the area of the difficulty, but the guidance counselor is often a key person in help¬ing the child make a general education adjustment to school. See also EDUCATION—8. The Education of Exceptional Children.

German education operates on a three-track pattern. After four years (ages 6-10) of compulsory primary school, students either attend a Gymnasium (academic secondary school), Realsclmlc (general education high school) or Haiiptsclnilc (general education school). In France higher education is free to qualified students. Nearly 1 m. students continue their studies after secondary school in 72 universities and in tech¬nological institutes and grandes ecoles.
