Chicago-based Home Furnishings:

Chicago-based Home Furnishings Here's a more detailed look at what's new under the sun: MODERN LOVE: The midcentury modern look is moving out - to the backyard. And there's nothing subtle about this trend. "We're seeing great, molded heavy plastic furniture that you can keep out year-round," says Chicago-based Home Furnishings consumer expert Jennifer Litwin. "It's strong and sturdy, and it comes in a lot of funky colors. It's like planting a beautiful flower in your yard."

The Eleventh Annual Fine Furnishings Providence Show is slated for October 27 - 29, 2006 at the Rhode Island Convention Center. Both fine furnishings shows provide a venue for artisans to meet with designers, decorators, members of the Home Decor media, collectors, and the general public to make direct sales, initiate commissions, and generate publicity about their work. Many dedicated exhibitors have developed long-term relationships with clients they originally met at fine furnishings. The shows are open to artists and designers residing and working in North America who are the principal behind the design and craftsmanship of the work. All work must be originally designed, handcrafted and appropriate for home decor.

FURNISHING: "With multipurpose rooms, you don't have to let the rooms suffer because you want to have a TV in there," Remignanti says. He and Jaffke agree that sectionals are a comfortable alternative to the recent spate of designated home theater furnishings that recline and offer cup holders. Cube ottomans are also great for doing triple duty as storage, seating or accent tables for holding drinks or snacks.

According to statistics from the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association, about 28 percent of U.S. households have home theater systems, which include everything from basic box kits for a few hundred dollars to more elaborate custom jobs costing upward of $250,000. But despite the growing legions of high-tech-hungry viewers, a dedicated home theater isn't practical for most people. So here are some tips from the experts on how to create a living space that integrates style and comfort along with your big-screen dreams.

On The Other Hand See Harvest Home:

It responds well to liberal applications of manure in the fall. The plants should be set three feet apart each way. Harvest of the stalks may begin when the plants are two years old, and the stalks should be pulled, not cut. Roots of rhubarb should be divided every three or four years. For forcing, the roots are dug in fall, allowed to freeze, taken indoors, covered with soil or sand, kept in the dark or in dim light, and watered oc¬casionally. The crop will be ready in about six weeks. After the harvest, the roots are thrown away.

Herschel foresaw the representation of scenes in action—the vivid and lifelike reproduction and handing down to the latest posterity of any transaction in real life—a battle, a debate, a public solemnity, a pugilistic conflict, a harvest home, a launch—anything, in short, where any matter of inter¬est is enacted within a reasonably short time, which may be seen from a single point of view.
