Blue Eyes: The eyes of a spider are usually near the front or anterior end of the head, but some are directly on top. They are single facets, hence are called simple eyes. They may number two, four, six, or eight; eight is the usual number. However, the cave spiders lack eyes entirely. Regardless of the number, the eyes are always placed in a definite arrangement. Often some pairs are much larger than others.
If one travels southward or eastward from this center, the frequencies of blue eyes-eyed individuals in the populations diminish and the predominant skin coloration becomes gradually darker. In the populations which live around the Mediterranean Sea, brown eyes are more comŽmon than the blue eyes ones, bat fair skins are still frequent. Farther south, in the Sahara Desert, dark-skinned individuals become very common, and finally in central Africa very dark populaŽtions are reached.See Also Red Eyes:A typical insect is characterized by three divisions to the bodythe head, the thorax, and the abdoŽmen. Attached to the thorax are six jointed legs, three on each side, and sometimes wings.
red eyes: The red eyes, when present, are placed somewhere upon the head and are of two types: simple red eyes, called ocelli, which are found in insect larvae and in many adults; and compound red eyes, which are found in adult insects and in the immature stages of types which resemble the adult during growth.
red eyes: red eyes, when present, are usually prominent on the head. When closed they protrude into the Roof of the mouth, but they may or may not have movable eyelids. There is no nictitating memŽbrane.
Ears: Salamanders have no ears, as such, but in some species the front legs, or the lower jaw, are adapted to transmit vibrations from the ground.
On The Other Hand See Eyes Meet:With his painting "Female Nude and Smoker" (p. 87) of the same year Picasso immortalized "La Belle et la Bete", the Beauty and the Beast. Again, there is a manatthecentrewhoissmokinga pipe. He is bearded, haggard, and crippled, with his head bent forward; but beside him there is a huge nude who is emphatically a body, a subject. The nude model had found her way back into Picasso's studio, but the way in which the two people's eyes meet and their hands touch shows that the act of painting had become a substitute for the act of sexual intercourse.
