Activities Of Children:

Activities Of Children Sadly, political events seem to be working against such approaches. Early statements sounded supportive of an increased profile for sport and physical activities of children: Labour's approach to sport recognises the need to focus on a founda¬tion where young children are introduced to a broad and balanced pro¬gramme of activities of children (Labour Party 1996, p. 6) and Primary school teachers are to be given the key role of ensuring that all children experience physical activities of children. This is not only beneficial to children's health, it can also help equip them with social skills and the enthusiasm for lifelong sports participation.

In a paper, presumably ironically titled 'Maintaining Breadth and Balance at Key Stages 1 and 2', the QCA (1998) advocales an increased narrowing down of the Physical Education curriculum, towards competitive games and away from outdoor and adventurous activities of children and athletics. This consequent marginalisation of Physical Education raises great cause for concern regarding children's current activity levels and future lifestyles, especially those children who already receive limited opportunities for physical activities of children. Children in the United Kingdom already receive fewer hours of Physical Edu¬cation than any other comparable country in Europe (Armstrong and Welsman 1997), and these reforms seem destined to place our children still further behind.

See Also Events And Activities:

Events that may or may not be conducted on a competitive basis include tumbling, trampolin-ing, and certain vaulting, climbing, and balancing activities. In addition, women develop free move¬ment routines using hand apparatus. Gymnastic events and activities are used commonly for ex¬hibitions and festivals, especially in European countries.

Make no¬tations in it in advance of eveiy important activity as soon as it is scheduled. Many important activities are annual events, of course, and you should get as many as possible of these ticked off at the first of the year when you get your new future book and transfer to it the notations from the old.

On The Other Hand See Protests—because Its Activities Became:

While these reports provided information, they scrupulously refrained from advocating specific political action, because this could have jeop¬ardized the tax-free status of voluntary organiza¬tions interested in conservation. The Sierra Club, long known for its effective work on behalf of wilderness areas, had already been deprived of that status—although not without editorial protests—because its activities became too political.

This time, I will begin with a definition: Publicity is a message about your activities prepared as editorial, rather than advertising, material, and pub¬lished or broadcast without charge. Apart from the public relations techniques I have described, you can get a lot of mileage by keeping the newspapers, radio, and TV stations in your area informed of your activities. However, before we get into the details, remember that these activities must have some interest to the people who will see or hear them, or the editors will throw away your material.
